I had every intention of doing this blog and then I didn't....but now, maybe

Once upon a time, I wanted to start a food blog in what feels like a lifetime ago. I work retail, or I did work retail for over twenty-five years. Retail consumed my life and time as I invest all of me when I am at work and usually my days off. So, I forgot about my food blog. I have now found myself unemployed for the first time since I started working by no choice of my own. My retail store closed in January. While I search for a new career or just a new job, I have rediscovered my one attempt at a food blog. So let's see where this takes me.

My Youth, Music and Food

I remember the first radio I owned as a child in the 1980's, it had a tape deck on it and I was so excited to be able to listen to the weekly top 40 on Sundays. One of the first songs that I remember that I really loved was Shock the Monkey by Peter Gabriel. I probably drove my sisters crazy listening to it over and over. During my childhood one of my favorite things to eat was BLT's and during the summer I ate tomato sandwiches almost everyday. The first time I ever made a vegan version of my childhood favorite was around the summer of 1996. My Music tastes changed of course I think the summer of 1996 I was listening to a lot of Britpop, Blur and Oasis. The recipe has changed over the past few years and this is the version that we like the best. Vegan TLT (Tofu Lettuce Tomato) 1 block firm tofu, patted dry (please look for tofu that is non gmo) 2 Tbsp. nutritional yeast 3 Tbsp. flour 1/2 Tbsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. pepper Bragg Liquid Aminos Salt to taste 2 Tbsp. oil Orga
